Media Relations | Public Relations | Communications | Writer

Michèle Newton, Director & Corporate SecretaryStories and growing relationships are at the heart of everything I’m passionate about. A creative writer from an early age, I’ve leveraged that into a successful career that I love. Working with many different brands and organizations over the years, I’ve found that thoughtful and compelling storytelling is at the heart of it all. My approach has regularly garnered media interviews and coverage from CTV-2, CBC, Torstar/Metroland, Corus, ROGERS tv and numerous other broadcast and print media outlets.

I’ve had the opportunity to provide strategic public and media relations, communications and marketing services across different industry sectors including municipal government, financial services, real estate, beauty services, packaged goods, arts, entertainment and not-for-profit. I’m guided by–what I like to call my–“better together” philosophy around growing relationships, nurturing collaborations and facilitating partnerships, especially those with a shared focus on strengthening our community.

As the creator of Our Mosaic Lives, a digital project Celebrating Black Canadian Women and Girls, I’ve had opportunities to speak about my journey, exploring my mixed-race upbringing and identity on CBC’s Fresh Air and at a University of Toronto international conference. In January 2019, I’m curating an Our Mosaic Lives photo exhibit in partnership with the City of Barrie.
